EvProseccos are sparkling white wines, somewhat similar to champagne but less dry and more fruity. The prosecco white grape grows in the Veneto region of northern Italy. Proseccos, like champagne, are often blends of several harvest years and so lack a vintage year. Prosecco wine should be served chilled. Processo can be substituted for champagne in some mixed drinks.
These two proseccos were Consumer Reports best-rated selections in its December, 2007 issue.
Nino Franco Rustico Brut, $18
Il Prosecco, $10
Either of these prosecco wines would be a great option for Open That Bottle Night festivities.
